Knoxville Opera’s Education & Outreach Mission is to enrich the lives of everyone in our East Tennessee community.  A variety of programs have been designed for groups to learn about and experience the thrill or opera and musical theater through intriguing encounters with singers, conductors, pianists, and stage directors.

Opera 101! is an entertaining education and outreach program for student and adult groups. Starting with popular selections in English from 20^th Century Broadway musicals, the presentation weaves its way back through musical theater history to great opera and operetta classics. Each concludes with a lively question and answer session, giving participants an opportunity to interact with the performers. Repertoire can be “themed” at your request.  These programs are performed by vocal artists from the distinguished Knoxville Opera Studio under the direction of Maestro Brian Salesky.

Opera Up Close…is our program that brings groups into the exciting, private rehearsal room process. Experience the thrilling performers “up close and personal.”

Student Dress Rehearsals are incomparable, overwhelming experiences of live full-length performances at the historic Tennessee Theatre. Riveting drama and passionate music will transport you to places you have never dreamed possible. Teachers, students and their families are welcome to attend fully staged dress rehearsals of our productions with projected English translations.
